A powerful image of the Mick's mighty home run swing. Taken on the field at Yankee Stadium, this action shot dates to Mickey Mantle’s Triple Crown and MVP season of 1956. There are not many Type 1 photos of Mantle in-action, and this is certainly one of the finest. Mickey’s determination, wrist strength and smooth follow through are on full display in this doubleweight (double thickness), oversize (almost 8.5" x 11") photo. The image has been printed to its edges and shows nice toning throughout. The reverse of the photo has “MANTLE, MICKEY” hand written in pencil along with the United Press Association stamp dating from before they merged with International News Photos to form UPI in 1957. A rare action shot of Mantle taken during his historic Triple Crown MVP season. Encapsulated Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
