This is next year! The Dodgers had lost every one of their World Series tries in 1916 1920 1941 1947 1949 1952 and 1953. There was even the defeat in the 1951 playoff to the New York Giants when Bobby Thomson's "shot heard 'round the world" broke hearts across Brooklyn. Their last 5 Series losses were all at the hands of the New York Yankees. Finally in 1955 Brooklyn pulled off their first and only World Series victory over their pinstriped nemesis in an unforgettable 7 game nail-biter. This superb slightly off-white ball from their greatest season features 26 bold signatures including Robinson Campanella (MVP) Hodges Alston (ss) Reese Podres Erskine Furillo Amoros Spooner Craig Roebuck Templeton Shuba Howell Labine Bessent Hoak Zimmer Walker Meyer Newcombe and Gilliam. Signatures of Loes and Snider are deemed clubhouse examples. Every signature remains consistently 7-8/10. The unofficial ball is stamped with the Dodgers classic script logo. Considering the enthusiasm and fanfare surrounding this band of heroes it is remarkable that an artifact such as this could have been largely spared from handling by eager admirers. The ball has been graded by PSA/DNA as follows: Baseball grade: 6 Signatures grade: 8 Overall grade: 7.
