Classic advertising piece features a die cut team picture of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers set within a cardboard frame. Honoring Brooklyn's only world championship team these signs were distributed to bars and retailers offering Schaefer beer. The uniquely designed display features three rows of players die cut and spaced so as to create a three-dimensional effect. The elaborate design of this fragile cardboard display piece makes it extremely susceptible to damage. The offered example has been cut down from the original 13" by 20-3/4" size to fit a 11 1/2" by 18 3/8" frame. About 1/3 of the players have some light to moderate creasing mainly around the neck area with the head of Roger Craig missing. Despite the flaws ad piece still displays nicely. Protective front glass was cracked and had to be removed. We recommend replacing it with Plexiglas.
