Presented here, newly graded and fresh-to-the-hobby is this tremendous 1955 Topps Baseball complete set (206) in mostly VG-EX to EX-MT condition, with some better and worse examples mixed in. There are 19 total PSA graded cards in the set including the coveted Clemente and Koufax rookies as well as Aaron, Jackie, Ted Williams, Snider, Berra and more. Our consignor built this set totally from scratch as a young collector, pulling the majority of these out of '55 Topps packs or trading with friends, and kept them in a three-ring binder for over half a century.

Normally we do not address grading decisions, but the harshness and lack of consistency on some of these is too egregious not to--particularly the last four italicized. #61 Jacobs appears at least two full grading points higher (EX-MT+), while #192 Delsiing and #204 Smith could easily be EX-MT. All three look as nice as #139 Kraly or #197 Smith and slightly better than #176 Zauchin. In addition, #116 Hurd was somehow rated two points lower than #84 Pascual or #207 Consuelo. If you compare the images side-by-side, I think you will agree. Needless to say, there are some definite review or crossover opportunities in this lot.
