The 1955 New York Yankees managed by the great Casey Stengel finished first in the American League standings with a record of 98-56. In the World Series that year the Bronx Bombers dropped a hard-fought seven-game series to the Brooklyn Dodgers. This lot features a 1955 New York Yankees American League Champion team-signed baseball. The Official A.L. (Harridge) baseball boasts a total of 26 signatures in blue ink on it including Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra across the sweet spot. Though a second autograph reading Casey Stengel also graces the sweet spot area that particular signature has been deemed a clubhouse version. Besides Berra other notable signatures on the baseball include fellow Hall of Famers Phil Rizzuto and Mickey Mantle along with Don Larsen Elston Howard Jim Konstanty and Jerry Coleman.
