Among the most visually striking and condition-sensitive issues in the entire Mickey Mantle card pantheon, this 1954 Red Heart Dog Food premium captures a beaming, boyishly youthful Mantle posed against a vivid blue studio backdrop, bat resting on his shoulder. Graded SGC PR 1, the card reflects the honest wear typical of this fragile, oversized premium issue, which was distributed exclusively through dog food packaging and is notoriously difficult to find in any presentable grade today.

 

The reverse carries the charming "Red Heart — The Big League Dog Food" branding alongside Mantle's 1953 season and career statistics. Despite the modest grade, the card retains a fully intact image with bright, well-preserved color saturation, a testament to the issue's scarcity even in lower conditions. A wonderfully evocative, hobby-favorite oddball issue offering an affordable entry point into vintage Mantle collecting.
