OAL(Harridge) baseball signed by 28 members of the 1954 New York Yankees originally from the collection of Hall of Fame manger Casey Stengel. In 1954 the Yankees won 103 games four more wins than in 1953. However the Cleveland Indians won 111 and knocked them out of contention. Had there been a wild card in those days the Yankees would have made the playoffs and might have won a sixth consecutive World Series. Players on the ball are: Casey Stengel(HOF)(sweet spot) Phil Rizzuto(HOF)(sweet spot) Yogi Berra(HOF) Andy Carey Ralph Houk Johnny Sain Jim McDonald Bob Grim(AL Rookie of the Year) Jerry Coleman Tom Morgan Irv Noren Bobby Brown Gene Woodling Hank Bauer Gil McDougald Bob Kuzava Willy Miranda Allie Reynolds Ed Robinson Joe Collins Ed Lopat Whitey Ford Tom Gorman Bill Skowron Charlie Silvera Enos Slaughter(HOF) Mickey Mantle(HOF) and Harry Byrd. Very strong 8-9/10 blue ink signatures on a slightly yellowed ball. Stengel has signed for a 2nd time in black ink above the trademark stamping with the added notation "1954". Incredible baseball directly from the collection of the Hall of Fame manger who originally obtained the signatures.
