The 1954 New York Yankees won 103 games yet that was not enough to take the American League pennant as the Cleveland Indians won a then-A.L. record 111 games that fateful season before getting swept in the Fall Classic by the N.Y. Giants. Presented here is an off-white and lightly scuffed 1954 Yankees team-signed baseball with 28 signatures. Highlighted by the great Mickey Mantle whose early career autograph (located on panel stamped with ball's size and weight) appears in 6/10 blue ballpoint the Spalding 'Official Baseball' includes these other notables: Rizzuto (HOF)(SS) Berra (HOF) Ford (HOF) Slaughter (HOF) Bauer Skowron McDougald Reynolds (SS) Coleman Woodling Gorman McDonald Byrd Robinson Brown Houk Noren Miranda Kuzava etc. A few signatures are obscured by a large "JUNE 28 1954" notation in unknown hand. All signatures come in 5-7/10 blue ballpoint. Leja and Lopat deemed clubhouse autographs by PSA/DNA.
