Right-handed pitcher Eddie Yuhas was an amateur free agent who originally signed with the New York Yankees in 1942 but didn’t make his MLB debut until 10 years later with the St. Louis Cardinals. Though he’s listed as playing two seasons (1952-53) Yuhas saw nearly all of his big league action in ’52 when he compiled a 12-2 record for the Redbirds with a 2.72 ERA. Featured here is Yuhas’s impeccably preserved 1953 St. Louis Cardinals game-worn home uniform.

Remaining in completely original unaltered condition the offered white flannel zip-front pullover jersey displays the team name in red and black felt script across the front with Yuhas’s uniform number "43" in red felt with navy blue outline on the reverse. The jersey front includes the classic embroidered "birds on bat" Cardinals’ logo across the chest. On the jersey’s left front tail is his name season and set number chain stitched in red: "Yuhas 53-2." The Rawlings manufacturing tag remains sewn on the inside rear collar with a [size] "42" adjacent flag tag. The interior left front tail reveals a dry clean tag. Red piping outlines the length of the jersey’s zipper and continues around the collar and encircles both short sleeve openings. The jersey shows minimal usage wear remaining in outstanding original condition with superb display qualities.

The accompanying white flannel pants show moderate use with some slight dirt stains on the front right leg. Proper "Rawlings" tagging appears on the inside rear waistband next to an adjoining "Dry Clean Only" tag and two white cloth tags reading "53" and "1953X" in red chain stitching. An original waistband tag reading "38" has been crossed out in black marker and "34" was hand-written in the waistband in the same black marker. The original zipper remains intact and red piping runs the entire length of both pant legs.

Part of the esteemed Delbert Mickel estate collection.
