The 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers repeated as National League champions by 13 games over the Milwaukee Braves, posting a 105–49 record. The Dodgers' .682 winning percentage in 1953 stood as the best single-season winning percentage in franchise history until 2020, when the Dodgers posted a .717 mark (43–17) during the pandemic-shortened 60-game season. Presented here is Bill Antonello's player ring, one of just a tiny handful of player rings from this important season to reach the hobby's auction block. A blue sapphire is framed by four small genuine diamonds representing the mound and four bases is found on the face, encircled by raised text stating that Brooklyn was the "National League Champions." Each identical shank commemorates the achievement by showing the year 1953 and team logo on either side of a splendidly detailed Ebbets Field portico. Interior band is engraved "Bill Antonello" in artful script. The ring is overall in great condition, particularly given the age. Size: 8. Weight: 28 grams.
