ADDENDUM: THIS IS A 1953-55 STYLE HOLLYWOOD STARS GAME WORN ROAD JERSEY NOT ONE FROM 1957. WE ARE WORKING ON TRYING TO IDENTIFY THE PLAYER(S) WHO WORE THAT NUMBER FROM 1953 THROUGH 1955
This is an extremely rare artifact a 1953-55 game-worn Hollywood Stars road uniform. The Pacific Coast League at that time was widely regarded as almost a "third major league" higher than AAA but just below the major leagues. The flannel jersey features the Stars' red-on-blue felt logo on the front left breast. It is in standout condition showing game use but problem free with the red piping on the shortened sleeve intact and unmolested as is the No. 21 on the back. The Wilson manufacturers label appears on the collar with "Size 44" flap tag attached. There are six holes (as tailored) under each arm to facilitate ventilation. The accompanying flannel pants display game use in an even more energetic fashion with staining front and back and a team repair to the back of the left leg. The one-button zippered fly remains intact and working. Inside the front of the waistband is a Wilson label and "38" chain stitched on an attached small felt tag.
Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
