The definitive post-war baseball card Mantle's 1952 high number is a cornerstone to most collections by itself and the key to the most esteemed series ever produced by Topps. This collector grade example features a crisp image with color and overall print quality that are as good as it gets for the issue. Both surfaces are crease free. The card is centered towards the lower left corner but not to the point of distraction. An area of light discoloration is seen on the top border and a small dark stain appears at the same position on the reverse. Corner wear is medium at three points with the lower right being more severe. Overall this is very attractive example of the hobby’s most iconic post-war card with eye appeal that seems to surpass the VG 3 assessment so assigned by PSA.
