Splendid offering from the Splendid Splinter was the very one used during the 1951 regular season against the Chicago White Sox as attested to by Ted Williams himself. This Hillerich & Bradsby W166 is accompanied by authenticating LOAs including a letter from its original owner (a former major leaguer) who states that his father received the bat as a gift from Williams in late 1951 and that at the time Ted Williams had told him that he had just used the bat to hit a winning home run against the Chicago White Sox. The bat was then autographed by Ted Williams Jimmie Foxx Bobby Doer and Curt Gowdy (whose signatures have completely faded away). This is the bat that hit one of three possible home runs: Ted hit three homers at Fenway vs. the White Sox that season. They were May 15 July 24 and September 17 career home runs # 300 312 & 323. The bat is 35 inches in length and weighs 34.5 ounces and perfectly matches factory records. The bat is uncracked and shows tremendous use with many ball marks stitch marks and cleat marks. A significant homerun bat from one of the games purest hitters Ted Williams. Includes full PSA/DNA LOA GU8 and provenance from original owner.
