Offered here is a near-complete run of eleven Whitey Ford cards from his 1951 Bowman rookie through his 1964 Topps issue. The two graded cards are the 1951 Bowman #1 Ford RC  in SGC VG 3 and his 1953 Topps #207 issue in SGC GD+ 2.5.

 

The 1951 Bowman is particularly significant: as the lead card (#1) in Bowman's coveted '51 set and Ford's official rookie card issue. It captures the young smiling "Chairman of the Board" in his Yankee pinstripes before his Korean War service took him away from baseball for two years. The reverse notes his remarkable 9-1 record and 2.81 ERA in 1950. The SGC VG 3 example shows corner wear and light creasing consistent with its 75-year age.

 

The 1953 Topps Ford (#207) features the set's signature painted portrait style in vivid color; graded SGC GD+ 2.5, this card displays heavier wear including soft corners and some surface soiling but retains its visual identity. Together these two cards offer vintage Ford collectors entry into his two earliest major card issues.

 

The run continues with raw, ungraded examples of the following: 1954 Topps #37 (GD); 1955 Bowman #59 (VG); 1956 Topps #240 (VG); 1957 Topps #25 (VG-EX); 1958 Topps #320 (EX); two 1959 Topps #430 (GD & VG-EX); 1960 Topps #35 (EX); 1964 Topps #380 (FR).
