He was one of the most influential figures in twentieth century American history riding the groundswell of public support earned from his position as Supreme Commander of the D-Day invasion force to two terms in the Oval Office. Dwight D. Eisenhower was also a big baseball fan. As a teenager in Abilene Kansas he played center field on the high school team while his brother Milton played first base. Later as a cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point he played on the jr. varsity team along with Omar N. Bradley but failed to make the varsity team. Not making the baseball team at West Point was one of the greatest disappointments of my life he said maybe my greatest. As President he attended major league games as much as he could. According to Baseball Almanac while in office he attended 12 Senators games in Washington D.C. and the first game of the 1956 World Series in Brooklyn. Eisenhower's side panel signature rates 7/10 on the presented ONL (Frick) ball likely acquired at an Opening Day celebration where the President tossed the first pitch. Includes a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
