The New York Yankees accomplished World Series Championship glory a total of 7 times between 1950-1961. During this eleven year span, the Yankees would feature an MVP a total of 8 times: Rizzuto in 1950, Berra in 1951, 1954, and 1955, Mantle in 1956 and 1957 and Maris in 1960 and 1961. Hall of famers during this era include, Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Whitey Ford, Mickey Mantle, Johnny Mize, Phil Rizzuto, Enos Slaughter, Casey Stengel and George Weiss.
Featured in this lot are 9 team photographs from the 1950, 1952, 1955, 1956, 1958, 1959 (two photos), 1960 and 1961 New York Yankees. The 1950 photo is credited to ACME on an aged piece of paper taped to the rear of the photo. The 1952 photo includes a UPI stamp on the rear. The 1955 has a listing of the players stamped in order on the bottom of the photograph. The 1956 has a listing of the players stamped in order on the bottom of the photograph. The 1958 includes a listing of the players stamped in order on the bottom of the photograph. There are two from 1959. One of them is credited to UPI and lists the players on an aged piece of paper (yellowing from age) in blue type writer ink. The other has a listing of the players in order at the bottom of the photograph. The 1960 includes a UPI stamp on the rear. The 1961 includes a listing of the players in order at the bottom of the photograph.
