The iconic superstar of the famous Minneapolis Lakers dynasty George Mikan is seen here on the highly-coveted and impossibly scarce regionally-issued Scott’s Potato Chip card. These 2" by 4-1/8" cards were issued in 1950 on thick stock and distributed in potato chip and cheese potato boxes. Scott’s Potato Chip cards feature an Al Papas caricature drawing along with a facsimile signature and the Scott's logo on the front. The back carries biographical information and contest promotion details. A complete set was redeemable for tickets to Lakers games and player photos which explains why these cards are so scarce today. This eye-catching rarity graded EX+ 5.5 by PSA is the lone example of the key Mikan card assessed at this level with only one graded higher (PSA 7). In fact only six total examples have ever been graded by PSA according to their population report. This easily ranks as one of the hobby's elite basketball cards.
