This 1948 Leaf #73 Gene Tunney boxing card has been graded PSA NM 7. The 1948 Leaf boxing set is notable for its bold, solid-color backgrounds and sharp black-and-white fighter photography, a design that makes any surface wear or color fading particularly visible against the card's stark color fields. A PSA NM 7 grade reflects a card with strong original color saturation, sharp corners showing only minimal softness, and clean surfaces free of creasing or significant print defects. Tunney, the double champion referenced on the card's reverse for his light heavyweight and heavyweight title reigns including his famous Long Count victory over Jack Dempsey, remains one of the key names in the early boxing card hobby. An NM 7 grade places this card solidly in the upper range of condition for this scarce postwar boxing issue, appealing to both boxing and vintage multi-sport collectors.
