Even though Ruth had been retired for 13 years his popularity among the youth in the late 1940's was such that he still was a key part of Leaf's 1948 baseball issue. This offereing exhibits a strong excellent example of the Sultan of Swat's 1948 Leaf baseball card graded EX 5 by PSA and rates much higher in eye appeal. Superior image with bright color. Decent centering with clean front and back. Less than snow white edges seem to determine the grade.
