The late Stan Musial was arguably one of the greatest baseball players in the history of the game. His entire 22-year MLB career was spent playing for the St. Louis Cardinals where he won seven National League batting titles and helped the Redbirds win three World Series titles: 1942 44 and 46. His career batting average of .331 with 3630 hits including 475 home runs certainly catapulted Musial to first-ballot induction status into the hallowed halls of Cooperstown in 1969. Nicknamed Stan the Man he was a fan favorite in baseball stadiums across the country.

Featured here is Musials stunning 1947 St. Louis Cardinals game-worn road jersey. Well-maintained in near original unaltered condition only the number 6 on the back of the jersey has been restored the offered gray flannel zip-front pullover jersey commemorates a season in which the reigning National League MVP put up solid batting numbers once more: .312 batting average 183 hits including 19 home runs and 95 RBI. Just 26 years of age Musial was one year removed from serving a one-year military stint in the U.S. Navy.

The stunning Cardinals road jersey displays the team name in red and black felt script across the front with Musial's legendary No. 6 restored on back in red on blue felt. The jersey front includes the classic embroidered birds on bat Cardinals logo across the chest. The Rawlings St. Louis brown manufacturing tag remains sewn on the inside rear collar next to a dry cleaning tag with a Size '42' adjacent flag tag. His last name and the season in which he was competing Musial 47 is chain stitched in red onto the jerseys left front tail. Red piping outlines the length of the jerseys zipper and continues around the collar and encircles both short sleeve openings. The jersey shows light to moderate usage wear thus remaining in outstanding condition with superb display qualities. Truly a prized piece of game-worn memorabilia from one of the greatest hitters the game has ever seen.
