Presented here is a near set of the 1947 W571 "Homogenized" Bond Bread Baseball series with 33 of the possible 44 different player issues represented included the coveted Jackie Robinson (EX-MT). There are four duplicates for a total of 37 baseball cards. In addition two of the possible four boxing 1947 Bond Bread Homogenized boxing issues are included: Joe Louis and Primo Carnera. This classic and underappreciated set of black-and-white cards (2.5 x 3.5 inches) was initially issued with rounded corners followed by a release of square cornered cards. All backs are blank. Of the 39 total cards in this lot 15 have round corners and 24 have square corners.
15 cards with rounded corners mostly EX or a little better with a couple lesser. Players are: Barney Branca Brecheen Edwards Furillo Hatten Holmes Jones Kerr Kiner (HOF) Lockman Marshall Mize (HOF) (Some paper loss on front) Reese (HOF) and Thomson.
24 cards with square corners mostly NM or better with a couple lesser.
