Nice trio of items originating from the August 10. 1946 All- American Boys Baseball Game played at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The yearly contest sponsored by Esquire Magazine brought together the top high school baseball players in the country. Hall of Famers Ty Cobb (Manager of the West) Honus Wagner (Manager of the East) would lead their respective teams. Both items belonged to Jack Thrush an high school infielder from Columbus Ohio who participated in that game.

1) 42 page 8 inch by 10 inch spiral bound book given to all the players for the game. Book features full page photos of every participant including detailed biography plus plenty of room for autographs. More than 75 signatures are present including Hall of Famers Ty Cobb (Manager of the West) Honus Wagner (Manager of the East) Rogers Hornsby and Luke Appling plus veteran baseball men like Muddy Ruel Steve ONeill and Mike Tresh. All the high school players aside from the original owner have signed twice. Once on their own picture and once on the opposing page with most giving their home address. Some players who went on later to play in the Major Leagues are Harry Agganis "Tookie" Gilbert Hobie Landrith John Powers Chuck Stobbs and Pete Whisenant. Pages have a natural curve due to the fact they are all actual photographs on thick stock. Most of the blue ink signatures are strong rating about 9/10 overall especially on the autograph pages. The front cover and back covers are missing. Some of the plastic spirals that hold the book together have broken off. All in all the pages themselves are in very nice condition.

2) Actual game program from the contest. Program contains photos and biographies of all the players plus those of managers Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb as well as great information about the 1944 and 1945 games. Program cover and all the inside pages are in great condition. It has not been scored. Back cover is covered about 80% or more by excess white paper from being glued into an album at one time.

3) Pair of tickets to the game. Both ticket clean EX-MT with a little corner wear and cancellation holes from when the owner entered the ball park.

The game worn uniform from this game is listed as a separate lot in this auction.

Autographs Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
