From 1944 through ’46 a pair of outstanding running backs for Army were in both contention for the coveted Heisman Trophy college football’s highest individual honor. Glenn Davis (No. 41) and Felix “Doc” Blanchard (No. 35) were tearing up football fields during those three seasons with Blanchard winning the award in 1945 (860 rushing yards 16 touchdowns) and Davis walking away with top honors in 1946 (792 rushing yards and seven TDs). This lot features original newspaper artwork (circa 1944-45) by famed illustrator and artist Burris Jenkins featuring the dynamic duo. The overall framed and matted presentation measures 24” wide by 19” high.
