Based on sources involved with the sale of Walter Johnson signed checks originating from the estate of The Big Train it is estimated that less than 10 large format examples such as this exist in the marketplace. Executed on April 21 1942 the offered Walter Johnson large format check has been signed by the Washington Senator Hall of Fame pitcher in beautiful 9/10 looking steel tip pen dark black ink. A cancellation stamp is nowhere near the signature. The check shows 5 vertical folds and small puncture at the center which do not significantly impair is excellent overall presentation quality.
