The San Francisco Seals are perhaps best remembered as Joltin’ Joe DiMaggio’s first professional baseball club. One of the Pacific Coast League’s most successful all-time teams, the Seals won 14 minor league titles in their 45 seasons (1903-57), giving Bay Area baseball fans an entertaining winner before the Giants arrived from New York in 1958.
This 1941 Seals team signed ball contains 22 autographs, highlighted by Hall of Famer Tony Lazzeri at the tail end of his career. Other notables include Ferris Fain (led PCL with 122 runs scored), Nanny Fernandez (led PCL with 129 RBI, 231 hits, 46 doubles & 16 triples), Win Ballou, Eddie Stutz, Joe Sprinz, Sam Gibson, Tom Seats, Roy Partee, Al Epperly, Joe Brovia, Don White, Brooks Holder, Bruce Ogrodowski, Bob Joyce, etc. The well-soiled baseball could have seen some on-field PCL usage based on its current state. No manufacturer stamps are visible. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.
