Nice group of 1941-43 New York Yankees first generation photographs from the personal collection of pitcher Johnny Murphy. All feature crystal clear picture images.
- 1941 New York Yankees team photo. All player's very identifiable. Includes Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto, Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez, Red Ruffing, and Joe McCarthy. 8" by 10". A few creases but still displays beautifully.
- Joe McCarthy, Spud Chandler, Tommy Byrne, Jim Turner, Johnny Murphy, Ernie Bonham, Bill Zucker, Hank Borowy, Atley Donald, Mario Russo, and Marv Breuer lined up on the steps of the Yankee dugout before a game. 7" by 9". Very nice condition with a few red printer's marks on the side edges.
- 1943 New York Yankees team photo. Includes Hall of Famers Joe McCarthy and Bill Dickey. Players all wearing the 1943-45 Health patch on left sleeves. 8" by 10". Photo in very nice shape with a small diagonal corner crease at top right.
- 9/23/43 Spud Chandler, Tommy Byrne, Jim Turner, Johnny Murphy, Ernie Bonham, Bill Zucker, Hank Borowy, Atley Donald, Mario Russo, Charlie Wensloff, and Marv Breuer lined up on the steps of the Yankee dugout before a game. 7" by 9". Paper caption still attached. Very nice condition with a diagonal crease across the upper left corner.
Includes Letter of Provenance from the Murphy Family.
