With the four game sweep of the Cubs in the World Series the Yankees did the impossible by becoming the first team to win three consecutive World Championships. 21-game winner Red Ruffing and 18 game winner Lefty Gomez gave the Yankees the best starting 1-2 rotation in either league and the team clinched the pennant by 9.5 games. 23 members of what may be the greatest of all Yankees teams appear on this ball. Although the signatures of Lou Gehrig Joe DiMaggio and Lefty Gomez have been deemed clubhouse the ball still has star power. Signatures include Red Ruffing Bill Dickey Tom Henrich Joe Gordon Red Rolfe Frank Crosetti Monte Pearson and the rest of the supporting cast. All signatures on the Official American League (William Harridge) baseball come in black fountain pen with an average rating of 6-7/10 for strength and eye appeal. A light coat of shellac has been applied to the surface and the ball shows medium toning. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
