Offered here is a used Olympic torch from the controversial1936 Summer Games held in Berlin when Germany was under Nazi rule. Thiswas the first time the Olympic torch relay was held with the flametraveling from Olympia Greece through Europe and ultimately arrivingat Olympic stadium in Berlin after 12 days and 3187 km. Designed byWalter Lemcke and Peter Wolf and manufactured by Friedrich Krupp AG thebeautifully crafted torch features an engraving of the 11 major citiestraveled that covers the length of the shaft as well as the fiveinterlocking Olympic rings held in the talons of the German coat ofarms. It stands 10.75 inches (27 cm) tall with the circular topmeasuring 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter. Very well-preserved with little evidence of burn use it presents in NM-MT overall condition with just the slightest slant of the circular top.
