The 1934 tour is legendary not only for introducing professional baseball to Japan but also for the espionage activities of catcher Moe Berg, who secretly filmed Tokyo's skyline for U.S. intelligence. Team-signed baseballs from this historic expedition surface only on the rarest occasions, and examples bearing signatures of both Ruth and Gehrig alongside Foxx, Mack, and Berg represent the pinnacle of the genre.
