Presented here is a captivating, oversized original photograph of Yankees slugger Lou Gehrig following through on his pretty left-handed swing after hitting a long drive high into the daytime sky. Judged by the focused expression on his squinting face, Lou liked what he saw. The ball could very well have been one of his 493 career long balls that left the yard. Vintage action shots of the Iron Horse in full uniform (in this case, his road grays) are in short supply and high demand among esteemed collectors. The 11" by 14.25" photo, most likely taken during the 1934 season, has a vertical crease down the right side, some chipping on the edges, and some damage to the lower right corner, none of which affects Gehrig's full body image. The reverse has some taped brown paper along the vertical crease to reinforce its stability. Overall, it presents in good condition.
