A premier example of one of the hobby's most desirable Lou Gehrig issues, this 1934 Goudey card presents the Iron Horse smiling broadly in his New York Yankees cap, with a blue "Lou Gehrig says..." caption banner running along the bottom of the card beneath a small inset portrait. The card's vibrant yellow background and sharp lithography remain exceptionally well preserved, with strong corners and clean surfaces throughout.

 

The reverse carries Gehrig's quoted career highlights and personal statistics, including his .343 ten-year batting average and 1933 American League runs-scored title, printed in the set's characteristic green ink over a cream background.

 

PSA has graded this example MINT 9, noting only a slight off-center cut (OC) qualifier, an outstanding grade for this 90-year-old issue. Population reports show just two examples graded this high, making this a true condition-census piece for advanced Gehrig and Goudey collectors.
