Presented is a 1933 Goudey #53 Babe Ruth graded PSA PR 1 (PSA cert. #175227125). Among the four Ruth cards in the landmark 1933 Goudey set, the #53 "yellow" portrait is one of the most visually iconic, featuring the Sultan of Swat in a close-up batting pose against a bright yellow background.

Ruth is pictured in his Yankees pinstripes and navy cap, with the bat cocked over his left shoulder and his familiar determined expression rendered in classic Goudey artwork. "George Herman (Babe) Ruth" appears in the upper left, and the red "Big League Chewing Gum" banner runs across the bottom. The reverse carries Ruth's biography, recounting his 60-homer season in 1927, his 1924 batting title, his early career as a "great left-hand pitcher" and his 1920 sale to the Yankees.

While the card is graded PR 1, it displays considerably better than its technical grade. The bright yellow background, vibrant colors and clean portrait give it a strong visual presence, and the image remains unobstructed. Collectors who prioritize eye appeal over technical grade will find this example especially compelling.

By 1933 Ruth was in the twilight of a career that rewrote baseball's record books: 714 home runs, 2,214 RBI and a .342 lifetime average, along with seven World Series titles. A charter inductee into the Hall of Fame in 1936, Ruth remains the most iconic figure in American sports, and this card is a classic representation of his legacy.
