The 1932 World Series wasn't much of a contest. New York steamrolled the Chicago Cubs scoring 37 runs in a four-game sweep. The series was also one of the most bitter in history and is best remembered for Babe Ruth's controversial "Called Shot" during Game 3 at Wrigley Field. Representing one of the more coveted Yankee team signed baseballs from the Ruth/Gehrig era this OAL (Harridge) ball is signed by 20 members of that World Champion team. Signatures range from 1-6 with the sweet spot Babe Ruth presenting the strongest. Lou Gehrig rates a very readable 3-4/10. Other players include: Walter Brown Jimmie Burke Ben Chapman Earle Combs(HOF) Walt Farrell Lefty Gomez(HOF) Art Jorgens Lyn Lary Tony Lazzeri(HOF) Danny MacFayden Johnny Murphy Herb Pennock(HOF) George Pipgras and Joe Sewell(HOF). Some signatures are too light to identify. The ball was shellacked at one time and has darkened with some chipping. Also present is a clubhouse Joe McCarthy.
