The 1939 NCAA Track and Field Championship was the 18th NCAA track and field championship. The event was held at the University of Southern California's Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in June 1939. The host Trojans won their fifth consecutive team title assisted by the efforts of high jump champion John Johnny Wilson who took first in his event with a winning high jump of six feet six inches. This lot includes a circa 1930s bronzed track shoe thats attributed to Wilson the 1939 Intercollegiate High Jump Champion from USC.
Includes Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
