Addendum: The more aged poster on the left is an official on-site black & white poster from 1930. The whiter poster on the right is a modern copy to show the difference in printing contrast.
Presented here is an official on-site poster from inaugural 1930 World Cup soccer championship held in Montevideo Uruguay. 13 countries entered the tournament with host nation Urugruay Argentina United States and Yugoslavia advancing to the semifinals. The pre-tournament favorites coming off their 1928 Olympic gold medal triumph Uruguay defeated Argentina4–2 in the World Cup Final with 93000 on hand to become the first ever World Cup Champions
This monochromatic lithograph version (shown on the viewer's left in the image) was posted around the stadium and city of Montevideo. The black and white poster bears the official blue seal stamp that reads "COMITE EJECUTIVO 1er CAMPEONATO MUNDIAL DE FOOTBALL" [Executive Committee 1st World Football Championship] around the perimeter with "CONTADURIA 1930" [Box Office] at center. It has toned with some water staining light creases small amount of front paper loss and an upper right corner torn off. The second poster appearing much whiter and cleaner is a modern copy with some creasing and a couple of small tears at the bottom.
Note: the official color on-site posters are extremely rare and can fetch upwards of $10000 USD. It is unknown how many black and white on-site versions were made and posted in Uruguay.
