This exquisitely designed trophy was awarded to the 11th Naval District for being crowned the 1929 Marine Corps Base Basketball Champions.Presented by Hazard-Gould Sport Goods Co. the silver-plated trophy stands 18.5” high has a removable top and sports three separate warthog tusks within its base design with each curved piece measuring 7.5” long. The front of the impressive trophy is engraved with the following text: “11TH NAVALDISTRICT BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS 1929 MARINE CORPS BASE.” Previously on display at the San Diego Hall of Champions the 11th Naval District was disestablished on Sept. 30 1980. The trophy weighs six pounds.
Includes Letter of Provenance for the San Diego Hall of Champions.
