Pair of late 1920's tennis trophies.
"SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAMPIONSHIP AT LOS ANGELES TENNIS CLUB 1929 WOMENS DOUBLES WON BY GLADYS PATZ ESTHER BARTOSH". Vase like trophy stands about 10 1/4" tall. Some tarnish on front around engraving. Bottom stamped "MERIDAN B.CO. INTERNATIONAL 5 CC""YOSEMITE PLAYGROUND TENNIS TOURNAMENT 1928 MIXED DOUBLES". Winged Victory sits atop a bell like base. 9 1/2" tall. Bottom stamped "WALLACE BROS. CO. WALLINGFORD. CONN. V608". Trophy has quite a lot of tarnish.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
