One of the most prodigious sluggers of the 1920's and 1930's Chuck Klein not only won a Triple Crown he also blasted four home runs in one game. He led the National League in home runs four times and was posthumously elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980. Offered is one of his very rare game used bats. Dating from the 1929-30 period this H&B Chuck Klein signature model bat shows evidence of outstanding use with a slight handle crack that has been repaired. Ball marks are visible on the left and back barrel. The bat exhibits a dark hickory patina and the handle and knob exhibit appropriate signs of wear. While there is no written documentation that accompanies the bat a Letter of Authenticity dated April 1lth 2004 from Mastro Auctions indicates that the "bat was obtained by Tom Hughes directly from the Chuck Klein family. This is one of two bats that Mr. Hughes obtained from the family". A review of Chuck Klein's Professional Bat Ordering Record (PBOR) on file at Louisville Slugger Inc. reveals Klein's orders of hickory bats on April 5' and June 10th 1929. Since 1928 was Klein's rookie year this in one of the earliest bats from his Hall of Fame career.

Includes a LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (Graded GU9).
