November 5 1928 TSL on American League Professional Base Ball Clubs stationary from American League President Ernest Barnard to Hall of Fame catcher Mickey Cochrane congratulating him for being selected as the Most Valuable Player in the American League for 1928. In the letter he notes "This honor carries with it a reward of One Thousand ($1000.) Dollars from the American League...". Very strong perfect looking 9-10/10 vintage black ink Barnard signature. Letter is in very good shape with just one tiny chip missing at the top left fold. Includes a letter of provenance from the Cochrane estate.
