Nice trio of items relating to the 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympic Games.

1) 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympics participation medal. Made of bronze. Minted by Gerritsen and Van Kempen. 55mm in diameter; 4mm thick; 62 grams. Designed by J.C. Wienecke a well-known Dutch medalist. The obverse has two nude athletes (male and female) on podium holding a torch over an Olympic flame. The reverse has Nike Goddess of Victory over Marathon Tower with a shield of Amsterdam between the two hemispheres and 1928 at the bottom. There were 2971 participants at the Games of the IX Olympiad. A total of 5901 medals were said to be issued. EX-NM condition overall.

2) August 10 1928 Amsterdam Summer Games event program (No. 35) for swimming and diving competition. Written mostly in Dutch and German. Scoring kept in pencil. 40 pages. Near Mint.

3) June 13 1928 Southern Pacific Olympic Swim Tryouts program at Brookside Park (Los Angeles Calif.) with list of events and competitors. Two pages front and back.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
