On Nov. 27 1926 the 29th Annual Army-Navy football game took place at Soldier Field in Chicago. Navy at 9-0-0 was unbeaten while Army (7-1-0) had a single loss to Notre Dame. The two teams battled to a 21-21 tie on the day of its formal dedication as Soldier Field. This lot features a trifecta of vintage memorabilia surrounding that very contest. Positioned inside a nicely matted frame that measures 31 wide by 22 high are an original Army-Navy program from that game which features President Calvin Coolidge and Vice President Charles Gates Dawes on the cover; an original game ticket commemorating the formal dedication of Soldier Field; and a superbly preserved Army pennant that includes embroidery that reads: Solders Field Chicago Nov. 27 26.
