1925 original Type I photograph of Eddie Moore who played ten seasons in the majors, starting with the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1923-26 as the team’s primary second baseman. As a rookie, he posted a .359 batting average in over 240 plate appearances. Moore was an integral part of the 1925 World Champion Pirates, batting .298 with 163 hits, 106 runs, 77 RBI and six home runs. Fun fact: in 1930 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Moore became the last MLB player to be credited with a home run off the bounce. (A year later, the ground-rule double rule was instituted.)
Captioned on the reverse with the 1996 Baseball Magazine archives sticker, the photo presents nicely with two chipped corners and four tiny pin holes at each corner.
