The 1923 World Series made a couple of historic "firsts"-it was the first World Series to ever gross over $1 million in gate receipts it was the first World Series to ever be played in the "House that Ruth Built" and it would be the first of the many New York Yankee World Championships to follow. 1923 would also mark the third year in a row that the Yankees and the Giants were paired in post-season play. This time Huggins and his Yanks finally beat McGraw's boys. The program offered here features filled-in box scores that prove conclusively that this program records the events of the 6th and final game of the Series that saw Ruth homer and the Yankees clinch their first World Championship. Program shows a vertical center fold some water staining and general wear. VG condition.
