Almost dead centered GD PSA 2(MK) of the Chicago Black Sox pitcher Ed Cicotte from the extremely rare 1920 Holsum Bread issue features a crystal clear photographic image. Cicotte was a key conspirator in the plot to throw the 1919 World Series. As the starting pitcher in the first game he hit the first batter to let the gamblers know "the fix was in". VG or a little better looking corners. Close to 50/50 centering top to bottom and 50/50 side to side. Front would be very clean but for some light back print residue from the card sheet above which occurred during the original printing. Back has some light even soiling. Card has a few very light creases that do not disrupt the front surface paper. Reason for the "MK" qualifier is "KICKED OUT OF BASEBALL" in light pencil written at the top of the card by the original owner. Very desirable card of a key figure in the 1919 World Series betting scandal. The only example of this card in any condition handled by PSA. 1920 Holsum Bread cards can be distinguished from the similar 1921 Holsum Bread issue by the printing on the back.(larger spacing between H. WEIL BAKING COMPANY) PSA does not distinguish between the two when slabbing this issue.
