PSA AUTHENTIC Ticket stub to Game 2 of the tainted 1919 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds played on October 2 1919 at Redland Field in Cincinnati. Following the ridiculous Game 1 9 to 1 route by the Reds in Game 1 Williams kept it close pitching just badly enough to lose 4-2. Williams would go on to lose all 3 starts to set a World Series record that would last over 60 years. Although paid only half of what he was promised the $5000 he did receive was almost double his salary for the 1919 season. After 1920 he was one of the players banned for life by Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Stub has several vertical creases that do not disrupt the front surface paper. Left edge is rough from the way ticket was originally torn. Front surface is still very clean. Creases show up more on back but text is still very readable. A few areas of slight discoloration where is appears ticket was displayed in an album at on time. Great item from one of the darkest days in baseball history. Slabbed AUTHENTIC by PSA.
