Nice lot of 4 Type I original wire photos all relating to the 1919 Black Sox scandal.
- 9/20/17 Underwood & Underwood photo featuring a portrait image of Hall of Fame catcher Ray Schalk. Caption on back talks about the Sox upcoming World Series with the Giants. 6 1/2" by 8 1/2" photo has pin holes at all corners but is otherwise nice condition. Paper caption still attached to back.
- 9/21/17 Underwood & Underwood photo featuring Chick Gandil ring leader of the plot to throw the 1919 World Series warming up at first base prior to their meeting the New York Giants in the world Series. 8" by 10" photo has some creasing and corner damage but displays well. Paper caption came lose but has been taped to the back.
4/15/21 International photo featuring Federal Judge Kenesaw M. Landis the newly named Commissioner of Baseball watching opening day in Chicago. 6 1/"2 by 8 1/2" photo has pin holes at all corners and a couple of pencil marks at the right edge but is otherwise nice condition. Paper caption came lose but has been taped to the back.
4/19/22 Underwood & Underwood photo featuring White Sox manager Kid Gleason and Cubs manager Bill Killifer before the start of "The City Series" between the two teams. 7" by 9" has pin holes at 2 corners and small pieces missing from the other two but in otherwise decent condition. Paper caption still attached to back.
