Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. This is the sole example graded at this level by PSA, with none surpassing it! A remarkable high-grade specimen of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the W514 strip-card series. The W514 set is the largest and most extensively collected among the various strip-card issues of its time. Cobb is one of the prominent Hall of Famers in the W514 set and is rarely encountered in such exceptionally high grade. By definition, strip cards are hand-cut as intended. The slightly irregular cuts typical of this issue, which often affect a small part of the cutting guidelines, frequently disqualify cards from receiving a numerical grade from professional grading companies. The example presented here is a rare exception, featuring a clean and precise cut on all sides. It boasts vibrant colors, a sharp image, and robust corners. The reverse is a clean black. This is an outstanding example that would enhance any world-class W514 or Ty Cobb collection.
