One of the original challengers of the American and National Leagues, the Federal League was able to poach several of the game's top talent into it's camp with the offer of higher salaries. Unfortunately the pipe dream of becoming the premier destination for ball players and fans alike failed to come to fruition when the stresses of the additional financial burdens came to fruition after a measley two seasons of existence. Federal League memorabilia is still very challenging to come by for collectors and here we present a relic of the once hopeful baseball league's short lived, yet historical past.  This important piece of baseball history presents in near perfect condition even after a century of safe-keeping. The 1.5" diameter pass has an enameled face that exhibits baseball imagery with "Federal League, J.A. Gilmore, Pres." spelled along the ball's perimeter. The reverse offers "Circuit Pass 1915" lettering and engraved text with "307" serial number and "Chauncey Olcott". Olcott was a popular stage actor, songwriter, and singer of the time and wrote lyrics to "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and a Hollywood movie was made about his life after his passing.
