Johnny Evers was the longtime sure handed second baseman for the Chicago Cubs from 1902 through 1913 before he started playing for the then-Boston Braves. A career .270 batter Evers averaged 112 hits per season during his time in the Windy City. This lot features a game-used Johnny Evers Draper & Maynard professional model (No. 10) bat complete with his signature engraved in the barrel. The 32.5 bat certainly shows its age with contact marks throughout the barrel and a healthy amount of aged tape stretching 12 inches long around the handle. The bats weight is just under 38 ounces and it exhibits professional grade (straight not waved) grain and the end of the bat appears to have a squared slightly rounded end which is consistent and specific in Evers H&B records.
Includes Full Letter of Opinion from MEARS with Grade of A7.
