This 1912 original photograph of Detroit Tigers slugger Sam Crawford was captured through the lens of the most prestigious baseball photographer of his generation, Charles Conlon. During the Dead Ball Era, "Wahoo" Sam was considered one MLB's top power hitters, often leading the league in extra base hits and RBI. The Hall of Famer holds the MLB career record for triples with 309, a mark that will never be broken in the modern game. This wondeful action shot shows Crawford watching a deep fly sail away. Seeing his fielder's glove coming out of his back pocket makes this image a timeless classic. The reverse has Conlon's handwritten notes along with "1912" in black pen and a stamp from Ring magazine. Image clarity and condition are flawless. What a beauty from Conlon!DATE: 1912GENERATION: First (printed from original negative)PHOTOGRAPHER: Charles ConlonPRESS: The Ring, Inc.SIZE: 7.5 x 9.25CONDITION: MintAUTHENTICATION: PSA/DNA Type 1 Encapulated
